Cunego takes Giro di Lombardia




21st October 2007: Damiano Cunego won the final Pro-Tour race of the 2007, the Giro di Lombardia today. Cadel Evans won the overall of the 2007 UCI Pro-Tour. Traditionally, the Tour of Lombardy is decided in the final fifty kilometers. Seven adventurers were allowed to jump away in the run-up to that. Matteo Tosatto (Quickstep) was by far the strongest but he was naturally also caught up with more........

Petacchi takes Paris Tours




15th October 2007: After 256 kilometers Milram's Alessandro Petacchi wins Paris-Tours. Ale-Jet outsprinted Francesco Chicci (Liquigas) and Oscar Freire (Rabobank) in a bunch sprint. The teamwork between Milram's two top sprinters Alessandro Petacchi and Erik Zabel worked out perfectly at the finish in Tours. Erik Zabel prepared the sprint for Alessandro Petacchi who only had to finalize the sprint on the last 150m more........

Bastianelli shocks the World: Safi Pasta Zara-Manhatten rider Marta Bastianelli has stunned the cycling world when she claimed victory in the Women's World Championship Road Race. The 20 year old Italian shot of the leading group with one lap of the 133.7km race remaining and despite never holding a lead of more than 25 seconds, Marta was able to hold on for the victory more........

Bellis gets Bronze as Velits takes Crown: Slovakia's Peter Velits won the men's under-23 crown at the cycling world championships Saturday in Stuttgart, Germany. The 171.9km race was marked by numerous escapes but wound up in a sprint finish, with Velits edging out Australian Wesley Sulzberger and Britain's Jonathan Bellis more........

Cancellara simply World Class: Swiss rider Fabian Cancellara successfully defended his time-trial title at the Road World Championships in Stuttgart on Thursday. The 26-year-old covered the 44.9km in an unofficial time of 55 minutes 41 seconds to retain the title he won in Salzburg last year more........

Reynolds wins in Belgium!:
After a number of podium visits, the penultimate girls trip to Belgium of the 2007 season brought the first win, with Sarah Reynolds taking top spot on the podium at Kontich on Sunday. Bennati wins again, Menchov Seals Overall:
Daniele Bennati took todays final stage of the Vuelta Espana. Alessandro Petacchi came in second. Denis Menchov won the overall. In the final stage of the Vuelta Espana Alessandro Petacchi (Milram) once again was outpaced by Daniele Bennati of Team Lampre - Fondital more........

Future Events



With the winter track season drawing closer, the Revolution is growing with new events due to be launched this year to compliment the successful series at the Manchester Velodrome. Season 5 will kick off on Saturday 20th October with the remaining dates scheduled for November 17th, January 12th and February 23rd more........


Nikon


The Manchester Velodrome is offering an open invitation to Manchester Velodrome accredited riders to a free training session on Wednesday 14th November 2007 between 11.00am - 2.00pm. There will be three hours of track time available for up to 15 riders, who will be photographed by participants in the Nikon Photography Masterclass. Interested riders should send an e mail to b.barber@manchestervelodrome.com. The Masterclass is part of Nikon's Expo Roadshow which visits only two places in the UK (on the road), Bristol and Manchester
